i'm so happy i finally figured out how to get Japanese characters to show up (since I don't have a bilingual keyboard or anything) . I hope they're showing up?
Today I heard the best news about Ikuta-san and his new drama. I'm familiar with Honey & Clover and I think he'll be so good in the part of Takemoto. I'm really looking forward to seeing him be more quiet & serious. I hope they cover parts of both series of the anime because its in the 2nd one that Takemoto really gets to grow as a person I think. And I'm also looking very much forward to see who they cast as Morita.
I made some Ikuta-san backgrounds the other day and thought I'd share with everyone. I love that he's getting popular & getting covered in magazines where they take nice big photos, ^_^ Anyway, I have my monitor set really high resolution, so these are for big wide screens (1680x1050) but would probably look ok smaller & with a little cropping if thats what you need. Feel free to change them around for yourself. Dark & Mysterious Ikuta & Bright & Beachy Ikuta. I'll be making some more when I get some time. I have sources for some really nice ones.
I actually had a really vivid and long dream about Sho-san coming to visit me at my house. we had lunch and played video games & stuff. he kept touching my hand. o_O it was so odd...
my main Arashi love has always been Matsujun... but maybe my loyalty is changing?
lol, have you guys seen this?
youtube... wtf can't we embed?
ok. tried to embed this and can't figure out how, either i'm dumb or vox is. anyway, click the above link for Arashi goodness. and science. its totally educational.
lately i've really been getting into Ikuta Toma. i thought he was a cutie back when i watched Akihabara@DEEP and again in HYD2 although i wish he had been in more than 1 episode. :P and of course, Hana Kimi sealed the deal.
i was doing some poking around the net and found some NICE pic spam on the Ikuta Toma LJ and in a thread on D-addicts. so i'm linking to spread the love.
i just love his smile! its so enthusiastic... its a grin, honestly. he looks like a goofy goof. BUT he does a really good job of acting, and i love it when he's being the bad guy too. very diverse. Johnny's a complete moron for not debuting him in a new group already. i protest!
I'm putting in a couple of pics, one is my cell phone wallpaper atm... and the one with the puppy... he looks soooo much like Matsumoto-sama there it isn't funny. So let this be a start to your Ikuta Toma collection, and go off to download some more pics...hurry!
i really don't post often enough. stuff goes on, i just don't think that much to write about it. what happened recently i thought i'd write about and maybe my neighbors can give some feedback.
i've been studying Japanese for awhile now, not as intensely as i'd like (work, life, etc. getting in the way) but I know some stuff, and and I think I can handle a very basic conversation, and apologize my way out of whatever I don't understand. so the other day i'm in the mall, and theres this store there that has asian-y stuff, kind of a jumble. want to buy a stone dragon, a porcelain doll, some brass bells & a katana? this is your store. and the couple that runs it, i don't know in which nation they originated. this story's getting long....
anyway, the elderly man that was running the place became my first conversation in japanese. and at first i thought i did pretty well but the more i thought about it, the worse i started sounding. he was surprised i knew the word "bento" so i said i knew about Japanese stuff, and could speak a little. "sukoshi wakarimasu ne" he said, and i said "so desu ne". and then when i left he said "domo arigato gozaimasu" and i said "domo arigato." not much of a conversation i know. and i just want to die of embarassment. i DEFINITELY should have used the gozaimasu and i have no idea why i didn't, especially with him being older and a stranger. i'm an idiot. i also think i should have been a little bit forward and asked something like "anata wa Nihonjin desu ka?" and i didn't do that either. again: idiot. feeling stupid is one of the very worst things to me, and i just feel like the big dumb american who sucks at everything.
so my question to you is (if you read all of that boring rambling) how did you first conversation go, and can i overcome the shame of completely messing up my first one?
i've been so sick the past couple of weeks. i'm finally getting over it a bit but i had a coupleof crazy nights. i took 3days off work, and that never happens. whatever it is thats going around, don't get it! it doesn't help that the weather has been crazy, hot, cold, rainy, hot again. no one can get adjusted.
so Bambino finally started and its pretty awesome. i love anything having to do with chefs and restaurants and view-from-the-kitchen type stuff, and i love matsujun, so of course i love Bambino. i've only seen episode 1 and parts of it really made me angry. that head chef needs to be in the kitchen expediting and supervising his snot-nosed employees instead of schmoozing in the dining rooms. looking forward to episode 2.
i made a couple more desktops, these are pretty large, 1650 by 1080, so take and enjoy. They're maybe a little more
boring than thelast one but ihave a few morepictures i want to use in the future. (thanks to everyone in my neighborhood who scans things LARGE! lol) seriously, thanks, because thats mostly where i get the source images. :) y'all are great! hope you enjoy, and if you have any ideas or images you'd like me to make into desktops, comment & let me know!
apologies to the people in my neighborhood, i moved everyone to just "neighbor" i added people as friends because i didn't know any better, i thought you had to be friends or family (myspace habit maybe?) and i didn't know people could be just neighbors. so everyone is even now, not that i'm not friends or friendly, just wanted to make things even and didn't want to make anyone awkward, thinking "who is this girl, she's not my friend" when I add them. ::smile::
i said i'd add some pictures of flowers, i'd like to take some more soon, it will have to wait a couple of days though. i'm going to the bar/party part of my city for St. Patricks day. i've never done St. Patricks in the american fashion (drink until you die) so this is going to be interesting for me. i will get to go see 300 that day, so i'm really looking forward to that.
i'm adding more photos of the fog we've had the past couple of mornings, it makes things look kind of spooky and nice. I probably shouldn't take pictures while driving though.
ja matta
nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimasu.
i've been listening to these "learn japanese" CD's i got, on the way home from work. so far so good. i can understand and repeat some simple sentences about understanding english or japanese. Eigo ga, wakarimasu. happy to be learning.
mostly, all i've been doing lately is work, playing the Sims again (i missed it so!) and waiting for the finale of Hana Yori Dango.
Its springtime here! i'm going to be taking some photos of flowers and things later in the week, i'll put some pictures up then.
lookit what i got. fast, so fast. so blue. so so nice.
yeah, i ordered all the parts a month or so ago and my boss actually put it together (ok, he chose the parts too). he was totally having fun with it, and excited to put it together. nerd.
i don't know the first thing about building my own computer. but i'm happy i know people who do. :)
its got the biggest freaking hard drive ever--all the more room for doramas and music, ne?
also i'm beggining a HUGE project in the next few weeks, i'm going to start studying Japanese for real. i'd like to be fluent and that means studing reading/writing too. i know a few words, and i recognize a few hiragana, but thats about it. i'd like to dive in, and once my books get here, i will. i have such a multi platform plan, books, audio, video, computer. it'll take years i know but it will be interesting!
nice, uneventful weekend. no snow on the ground, nice weather this coming week, new shoes to wear, and newly pink hair.
i've been watching a lot of battlestar galactica these past couple of months, starting from the beginning, i'm just about caught up to what is current. i recorded a marathon about a month ago, knowing i'd be up to speed with it soon, and that marathon is what i spend a good part of my evening watching. theres a promo ad in it for (what was then) the upcoming new episode, dealing with relationship drama, and the backing track was some emo song or other. that brings me to my point: since when were those whiny juveniles the voice of pathos? i expect that shit from The OC but not from a show that i actually enjoy. how about something unexpected? an old jazz number to amp up the noir/casablanca feel. anything really, just not what they used. totally ruined the mood.
i'll try to take some pictures tomorrow
Yeah! Fighto-oh! I watched the first 3 or 4 episodes (something like that) of Hana Yori Dango 2 and it... read more
on fighto-oh!
